Impro 101 is an immersive, performance-based improv series designed for students who want to strengthen technique, expand creative range, and build confidence both on and off the stage. Over the 8 weeks, you’ll move beyond the basics and explore the core tools that make great improvisers compelling to watch and powerful to work with. Each class blends skill-building, ensemble play, and structured challenges in a supportive, growth-focused environment. The series culminates in a celebratory live showcase for friends and family — an opportunity to share what you’ve learned and experience the joy of performing as an ensemble. What You’ll Explore This series uses theatrical improvisation formats developed by Keith Johnstone, iO. Chicago, Second City, including: • Character & Status – making bold, clear choices • Storytelling – building scenes with momentum and meaning • Ensemble Play – trusting your partners and the process • Games & & Formats – including elements of Theatresports™, Gorilla Theatre™, Maestro Impro©.
