Kelly Jean, Founder & Lead Instructor

Kelly Jean is an actor, voiceover artist, teacher, and creative guide with over twenty years of experience in acting, improvisation, and voiceover, as well as performance disciplines including physical comedy, clowning, and stage combat.

At age 16, Kelly Jean took her first improv class with the Peter Pan Players in Louisiana. That summer, she traveled to Chicago to begin training at the city's oldest dedicated school of improvisation, Player’s Workshop of Second City.

Kelly Jean went on to train extensively in Chicago with legendary instructors, including Charna Halpern at Improv Olympic, TJ Jagadowski at iO Chicago, and Columbia College Chicago, where she earned her BA in Theater. She began performing with local improv troupes—pH and Low Sodium, as well as, teams at iO Chicago, further honing her craft. Later, she was trained by Keith Johnstone, one of the founding voices of modern improvisation and author of Impro and Impro for Storytellers. That early recognition grew into a lasting mentorship and friendship that continues to shape her teaching philosophy today.

She later moved to Los Angeles, where her work expanded into voiceover, acting, and voice directing. She also became the leader of the loop group Looptown, where she directed an ensemble actors and improvisers providing background sound for movies and television.

Now based in Boise, Kelly Jean brings together decades of performance experience, a deep improvisational lineage, and a heartfelt commitment to creating spaces where people feel safe to explore, play, and grow.
